How to Access Your My Service Canada Account?

 

My Service Canada Account (MSCA) is a secure online portal offered by the Canadian government to enable Canadians to access their information such as:

  • Employment Insurance (EI),
  • Canada Pension Plan (CPP)
  • Old Age Security (OAS)


Below are the steps to access My Service Canada Account:

If you are an existing user click on any of the sign options below:

 

  • Sign in with the GCKey
  • Sign in with your bank
  • Sign in with your province digital ID (Alberta Only)

 

If you are a new user, you will need to register:

 

  • Register with the GCKey
  • Register with your bank
  • Register with your province digital ID (Alberta Only)

Option 1: Register with the GCKey

My Service Canada Account Register with GCKey


1)Request access code

An access code is your key to accessing secure online services. You need to have an access code before you can register for MSCA with GCKey.

You will need:

  • your Social Insurance Number (SIN)
  • your parent’s family name at birth
  • your postal code if you are a Canadian resident or your country of residence if you are a foreign resident

2)Receive access code

Service Canada will provide you with an access code. You need this code to register for MSCA.

Online:you will receive your access code by mail within 5 to 10 business days.


3)Sign up for GCKey (if you don’t have it)

Use your GCKey to access multiple Government of Canada online Services.

Sign up for a GCKey user ID and password if you do not have one. If you have forgotten an existing GCKey user ID you will need to create a new one. 


4)Register for MSCA with your GCKey

You will need:

  • your access code
  • your Social Insurance Number (SIN)

Determine if your bank is a verified Sign-in Partner

  • Request access code. An access code is your key to accessing secure online services.
  • Receive access code

Service Canada will provide you with an access code. You need this code to register for MSCA. If you apply online, you will receive your access code by mail within 5 to 10 business days.
