Does CRA Call You?

Yes, the CRA does call you, but it is uncommon. Usually the CRA will contact you by phone if they’re trying to collect tax debt. However, the most common form of correspondence is by mail and email.

If you get a call from the CRA, there is a good chance it is a scam. To confirm whether or not a caller was genuinely from the CRA, note the caller’s name, phone number and location. You can confirm their identity by calling the CRA at 1 (800) 959 – 8281 for individuals and 1 (800) 959 – 5525 for businesses.
